Syed is a highly experienced strategic communicator with vast experience in Branding and Marketing Communications as well as the ability to develop top level stakeholder engagements with the media and Government Ministries.
Throughout his tenure, he worked closely with Ministries and Government agencies including the Ministry of Communications & Multimedia, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development and Ministry of Finance, including their key regulators, namely, Bank Negara, Securities Commission, etc. From his 27-year journey of public relations and government liaison,Syed established a vast professional network of influencers crucial to FMCG, Automotive as well as the FI sectors in their continuous quest in building trust and strengthening market presence.
Syed’s consultancy career in the past 15 years has seen him handling a spectrum of FMCG brands such as Procter & Gamble’s Head & Shoulders and Oral-B, Gillette as well as Kao Laurier, Drypers, Colgate, Olivenoil Living, Mamee Double Decker and L’Oréal. He also managed consumer brands like Maxis Hotlink, Canon, BenQ, Ferrari, Maserati, Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Vespa and Rolls Royce. On the luxury consumer segment Syed was the agency of choice for top Swiss brands like Vacheron-Constantine, Baume-et-Mercier, IWC and Panerai, including Spain’s leading jeweler Bagues Masriera. In terms of financial consumers Syed has experience developing communications programmes for Standard Chartered Bank, Hong Leong Bank Bhd, Malaysia National Insurance and Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation. He is a current Fellow and Exco member of the Public Relations Consultancy Association of Malaysia (PRCAM). He is also the current Chairman (Membership & Publicity Bureau) of the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM)
